💡Electrical Tip: Renters: Electrical safety tips you should know
Before you plug in your convenience appliances (i.e. air fryer) or game consoles, here are a few tips to help you understand the basics of electrical safety: • Don’t overload your outlets. Plugging too many things into one outlet is a common cause of overheating and fires. • Use surge protectors for your electronics. Power strips are helpful, but make sure they offer surge protection to keep your gear safe. • Keep cords visible and untangled. Running cords under rugs or furniture might seem tidy, but it can still be a fire hazard. Also, make sure the electrical cords you’re using are rated for the type of device you’re plugging in. • Unplug small appliances when they’re not in use. This reduces risk and lowers your electricity bill at the same time. • Keep anything electric away from water. That includes your phone charger in the bathroom and kitchen gadgets near the sink. • Know how electricity flows in your apartment. Locate your breaker box and test your outlets with a cheap plug-in tester from your local hardware store. This can help you identify overloaded circuits, outlets, or components that are damaged, and faulty wiring. Prepared today. Protected tomorrow.

Mike is currently our Project Manager and has excelled in this role. Mike is a Master Electrician with over 30 years electrical experience.. Mike has been with Farkas Electric for many years. Mike has a solid work ethic and an amazing ability to flex between ‘in the field projects’ and office projects. When he tackles an estimate, for our Customers, he’s fair and honest, and that’s what we appreciate in him. Jacob Farkas has been an integral part of Farkas Electric since 2018. As a licensed Journeyman Electrician, he is continuously expanding his expertise and is well on his way to earning his Master Electrician certification.With a strong foundation in the trade, Jacob has demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and a forward-thinking approach to electrical work.
